At the Barge Connection we believe that travel should be fun,
stress free and enjoyable – not just the travel part but
the booking and planning as well. Our small but dedicated staff
is committed to doing everything possible to help you realize
the fun and enjoyment you deserve on your vacation.
We also believe that first hand knowledge of a destination is
paramount when deciding on travel plans. We represent only quality
oriented vacations and want to use our first hand experience
to help you find the one that is best suited for you. The Barge
Connection makes frequent trips to
Europe with the sole purpose of visiting barges and gaining
insight on the boats and destinations we represent.

Company Background
The Barge Connection is a travel service
provider specializing in barge cruises. Founded in 1998, The
Barge Connection was featured on E! Entertainment Television,
May 2002, as a leading barge cruise agency. The Barge Connection
is headquartered in Grass Valley, California, with its European
barge partners based in England, France, Holland, Ireland and
Scotland.
Market
International
and national travel professionals rely on The Barge Connection’s
extensive first-hand knowledge and experience of barging to
assist their customers in choosing from themed cruises, self-drive
vessels or luxury hotel barges. In addition, as a secondary
market, The Barge Connection directly markets to the individual
traveler. This strategy strengthens its primary market (agents)
as well educating the traveler on the vacation benefits of barge
cruising.
Products
The
Barge Connection selects only quality vessels and crews that
provide the highest levels of comfort and service. Barge vessels
range from first class full service to self-drive accommodations.
Hotel Barges
The
Barge Connection’s selection of Hotel Barges offers opulent
private cabins, comfortable lounges and sundecks to viewing
the passing scenery. Total vessel inventory consist of sixty-one
boats. Class of service ranges from First Class, Ultra Deluxe,
and Deluxe service levels, accommodating from four to fifty
persons.
Themed Cruises
To cater to specific interest of the
client, The Barge Connection devised sixteen themed packages.
Top areas of interest included Gourmet Cooking, Wine, Golf,
Fishing and Adventure. Vessel service selection is First Class,
Ultra Deluxe, or Deluxe.
Self-Drive
As
The Barge Connections most independent form of barging, the
Self-Drive Barge allows for a leisurely control of a vacation.
Clients become the pilot for a relaxing journey through idyllic
landscapes. Vessel inventory consists of forty-two boats with
Elite, Crown, Princess or Canal service levels that accommodate
from two to twelve persons.

a specialty travel provider, The Barge Connection extends comprehensive
professional travel planning services to its clients. The Barge
Connection personally visits each European barge partners to
ensure the vessels accommodations, cuisine, and services meet
its quality guidelines and to keep current on necessary travel
